The Trust is a member of a procurement shared service, SmartTogether hosted by Guy’s & St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust.

SmartTogether are responsible for procurement and supply chain management for Guy’s and St Thomas’, Lewisham and Greenwich, and Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trusts.

The sourcing team manage over £300m of expenditure across clinical and non-clinical spend categories.

The supply chain team operates one of the largest automated inventory management systems in Europe across the three NHS Trusts including Lewisham and Greenwich. The team handle over one million product deliveries per year by teams working during the day and through the night.

The Trust use the following regional and national frameworks to purchase goods and services:

  • London Procurement Partnership (agency, soft and hard facilities management, pharmacy)
  • Crown Commercial Services (consultancy, energy, information technology and telecommunication (IT&T)
  • Gcloud Digital Marketplace (IT&T)
  • NHS Supply Chain (medical equipment and medical surgical consumables).

The suppliers and supplier representative guidance aims to put the relationship between the Trust and its supplier base on a sound and professional standing.
